About Us

Our full name is The Canadian Embroiderers' Guild, Kitchener-Waterloo, though The K-W Embroiderers' Guild is much easier to say! We are a non-profit organization that was founded in January 1989. We are a teaching guild and a member of the Ontario Network of Needleworkers. New members, whatever their level of needlework skill are welcome!

Our Objectives:

  • To encourage the practice and knowledge of the art of embroidery

  • To bring together people who are interested in sharing their knowledge of embroidery, and expanding their knowledge through training and development

  • To promote creativity while encouraging the interplay of ideas among members

  • To extend awareness of embroidery to the community

Benefits of Membership:

  • Opportunities to learn a variety of stitching techniques at Tuesday evening classes

  • Participation in workshops and field trips (extra cost may be involved)

  • Access to a lending library of books and magazines

  • Information about activities at other Guilds
